The Capacity to Endure

Jesus prominently says, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved (Matt 24:13).” We know to endure means “to last,” “to continue,” “to remain,” rather than “to suffer.” But what about our capacity to endure? It is clear to me that the we are admonished here to bear the hardship and not let go of faith.

I Corinthians 10:13 KJV, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

The temptation to get discourage and to quit the faith can be overcome. How? By our conscious choice and free will understanding of God the Father and His Son. That indeed God is faithful and will help us get out of trouble within our capacity to bear the temptations we faced each day.

This can only be done by daily surrender of self to God and abiding in Christ. It means we choose to believe in God. It means we rely on Jesus, the Son of God, for strength to carry on the payload of temptations and trials we need to conquer.

I have been faced with so much temptations and trials like most people do. And I failed many times until I realize I have been seeking my own way out of it. God desires that I will seek His will instead of mine. So I changed my expectations when temptations come I will rely on God’s faithfulness to help me and abide in Christ to give me the capacity to endure it instead of executing my own escape.

Thus when stressors are triggered I need to pause and think. When pressures occur I must watch I say and do. When temptation shows its ugly head instead of responding angrily, wearily, and faithlessly, I look unto the Lord, unseen, yet present in my situation. This is a daily drill.

These are smaller temptations the bigger ones are ahead. It will be life and death choices. Philippians 4:13, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.” If I can overcome small temptations and regular trials then I am in a better position to grow my capacity to endure even greater hardships ahead through Jesus who supply me strength.

If I will endure I will be saved. I have to increase my capacity. To grow my faith in Christ!

I will see tonight for our prayer meeting via Zoom ID: 916 891 5581 PW: TrueGod @ 8pm Eastern Time Zone (5pm Pacific Time Zone).

Sincerely in the Blessed Hope.
