Conversation with the Mail Man

My wife asked me to return some items today through USPS, I finished watering the fruit trees. And I was about to bring my pliers to the shed, so I can unscrew the battery of the tractor mower inside, when I saw the mail van driving in our cross street. I hurriedly waved and brought 3 packages to be handed to the mail carrier.

I have known Kevin, an unassuming soft spoken person about my age, for 2 years now. He was affiliated with the Baptist church. He parked the van on the side of the cross roads and we began to have a conversation. He step down from the right hand drive seat and we started talking.

His wife is battling cancer and they have no kids. Thankfully the cancer is on remission. He lived about an hour from my small town. Few vehicles would wave at us and say pleasantries. Our conversation shifted about America being a land of plenty now going through economic pains. The public school system corrupted and manipulated with school shootings and sexual perverts. He told me drug peddlers are out in the open in my streets and few blocks away. He divulged that even in his workplace you can’t mention the name of Jesus, without being reprimanded, but you can mention the name of Satan.

What strikes me the most is the honesty from him that America has become a nation claiming to be Christian but practices unchristian ways. As I was talking to him I was convinced I cannot let my kids grow in this community and environment. I am afraid for the Satanic influences that are prevalent in the culture here in the US. I told him that the Spirit of God will be withdrawn the wicked will be wicked still and the righteous will be righteous still.

We paused for a moment. He expressed gladness to have a conversation about Jesus Christ with me. I invited him for a prayer right then and there on the side of the cross roads. The cold air whipped us and the sunny day radiated to us. I prayed and witness to the One True God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I heard him say Amen.

I want to plant the seeds of truth to as many people as I can. I took the time to talk to Kevin and I am glad and he was able to take time to listen to me, too. I was able to call on the One True God and Affirmed Jesus is the only begotten of God with him.

So every time I see the mail van (Grumman Long Life Vehicle), I know the driver is not only a mail carrier but a person for whom Christ died and seek to save. My mails are taken cared of and I am sure God will deliver His message to Kevin as he drops the mail in the boxes each day.

Sincerely in the Blessed Hope.
