I am Not Ashamed of the Gospel

Romans 1:16 KJV, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Yesterday I drove to my scheduled interview for the renewal of the cash aid benefit that we are receiving from the state. My wife and I have separate schedules. Mine was yesterday and my wife will be tomorrow.

I was directed to go to the room with the social worker. She informed me that the program we are enrolled in requires 30 hours per week to complete online courses. That is equivalent to about 4 days of doing course per week and I will not be able to build my ministry.

I asked her if building my own ministry to support my family can be counted. She went out of the room to inquire. I whispered a prayer that I can witness to her. She returned and replied that doing ministry is work and not counted as taking courses.

We had a conversation. I briefly shared to her my journey from LA to SC. From being a SDA pastor, then unemployed for years, odd jobs, and now preaching the One True God and His Son. She shared her faith in the Word of God and that her family moved from Columbia to Johnsonville, a smaller city. She was blessed with a good husband and 2 teenagers who excelled in school and stayed out of trouble. I listened to her interests in the Bible and her disdain for prosperity preachers. She would check the Bible verses to see for herself if what the preacher is saying is Scripture based.

I told her that I cannot compromise my ministry and that I will sign the voluntary withdrawal from the program and leave the consequence to my God who promise He will provide. She hates this part of her work signing people out.

I love the One True God that He did not withhold His Son, the Divine sacrifice, to save me, Would it be too much to give up few hundreds of dollars, instead of pursuing an earthly career, focus now on preaching the last message of warning so others might hear?

I signed the withdrawal form. We will not be receiving cash aid from the state. I will dedicate my time for God’s work.

I offered to pray before I leave. She allowed me to pray for her.

She said she will definitely check my website that day. I have not heard from her. But I prayed today for her that she might know the only true God and His Son Jesus Christ. I desire that she will search the Scriptures and be drawn to Him who is the Truth.

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.

Sincerely in the Blessed Hope.
