There is only One God the Father and His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16.”
I believe John meant to say here is that Jesus is the literal Son of God even before He became the Son of Man (incarnate). Jesus is a literal divine person.
Nathaniel believes Jesus is the Son of God. Peter, too believes Jesus to be Son of God. I also believe Jesus is the literal Son of God.
In SDA Trinity it teaches that Jesus is not the literal Son of God but a title, a metaphor or a figure of speech. This teaching is a lip service that Jesus is the Son of God but it does not believe Jesus to be the real, factual, and literal Son of God. Why? Because if Jesus is the Son of God He will have a beginning therefore not eternal.
Jesus came from God the Father. He is divine and eternal because He came from God who is eternal. He was brought forth from God, torn from His bosom, and proceeds from God. Jesus is “truly God in infinity but not in personality.”-EG White, Ms 49, 1906, par 26.
God the Father is love. Because He sent forth His Only Begotten Son to save humankind. If Jesus is not the literal Son of God there is no love between the Father and the Son literally.
Trinity teaches 3 persons but literally it is 3 gods.
I believe Jesus is the literal Son of God because 1) the Bible says so. 2) the apostles says so. 3) the Adventist pioneers says so.
And I say so because I believe this is eternal life to know that there is Only One True God and Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is the literal Son of God.
